- Have a timer ready when you run a mock exam. Do it like a real exam CLAT in 120 minutes. If you are taking the mock exam at home, take it in your room where you will not be disturbed so that you create a simulation of an exam center. Treat mock exams like the real CLAT & the real CLAT will be a mock exam for you!- Prepare for a hot summer day (3-5pm), so try to take the tests without AC, cooling or fan. Try to adapt to the environment you will find at the center!
- Now run five to six tests, changing the order of the sections you try first and then continue. This way, you can experiment to find out which order of sections gets you the best grades.
- Keep a fixed time for each section. Do not continue solving the questions in the same section if the time has elapsed. Watch your time carefully. Move to the next section when the time is up. This is how you should approach a mock exam. If you have time in the end, you can come back and solve the rest of the questions in that section.
- Try to read the questions with full concentration. During these two hours, you should not think about anything else. FOCUS ON THE QUESTIONS. It's not like you are at home trying to get in some practice between eating lunch, solving some questions, calling a friend, and finishing the paper! Be sincere with your time and investment.- Try to focus and understand the question the first time you read it. Practise will also lead you to this stage; you will be able to understand the question and answer it in seconds.
- You may have two to or three passes on the exam questions. In the first round, solve and write all the questions that you can answer with confidence. Try to answer them. Circle or mark the questions you want to solve in the second round. These are questions you are not sure you can answer or are wavering between two possibilities; solve these questions in the second round and then complete the OMR sheet. In the third round, try to solve the questions you are not sure about; you probably do not know anything about them. But you can still try; and if you get the answer or even sometimes think strongly about an option, you can use logic and analysis of options to mark the option. You can leave out the rest of the questions.
- In the first tests, try out which sections you choose, when you fill in the OMR sheet, whether you fill it in after each section or only at the end after you have solved the whole task, or whether you fill it in after each round (as described in the point above). Then decide which strategy works best for you.
- Also, do not forget to bring two-three good HB pens and other needed stationery. Fill in the circles well. Draw an outline first and then darken it. Take a water bottle and other essentials with you.
- Finally, try to arrange your schedule so that you do not have the habit of sleeping between 3 and 3 pm. Otherwise, it will affect you negatively on the day of the exam. Also, do not have a heavy lunch or you will feel sleepy during the exam (for sure)!
