Meaning And Importance Of The Horoscope

A horoscope is a cosmic map derived from the time of our birth, revealing our unchanging past and probable future.

A horoscope in astrology contains answers to the karmic structure of our past lives and to the analysis of the results in this life.

It would not be wrong to say that the first step for any astrologer to make an astrological prediction is to make the horoscope of the individual and then analyse it.

Based on the horoscope, an astrologer interprets the results that each planet holds for the native, depending on the house in which the planet is located, the aspects that act on that house, and the sign that is present in that particular house.

A horoscope shows the positions of the planets and the signs they ruled at the time of a person's birth, thus indicating the course for the native's life in terms of events that will turn out to be his/her destiny, be it hurdles or gifts.

It is amazing that when planets are in a house, they activate that area of the natal chart and bring out the qualities that that particular house represents.

The planets bring out the outcome of a house not only by their positioning, but also by their aspects to the houses.

A chart has 12 houses, each with a unique set of qualities or representations.

Let us look at them one by one!

1st. House :Self, body, attitude, outlook on life, appearance, etc.

2nd. House :Accumulated wealth, bank balance, family, values, habits, etc.

3rd. House :Communication, siblings, courage, short trips, early education, etc.

4th. House:Mother, motherland, property, vehicle, convenience, schooling, etc.

5th. House: love, comprehensive intelligence, speculation, etc.

6th. House: litigation, debts, work/service, etc.

7th. House: Relationships, marriage, recognition of society, partnership, business partners, open enemies, etc.

8th. House: sex, death, disputes, inheritance disputes, obstacles, in-laws, ego, etc.

9th. House: Foreign travel, wisdom, spirituality, higher education, cross-cultural relations, etc.

10th. House: Career, profession, fame, public image, etc.

11th. House: Profit, friends, social interaction, etc.

12th. House: Endings, Expenditures, Bedroom, Foreign Settlement, Hidden Enemies, etc.

How does it work?

Based on the activation of the different houses at different times in our lives, as indicated in our horoscope, we get both good and bad results.

A capable astrologer can decipher the horoscope and find out what kind of result-oriented permutations and combinations occur in a particular period of a person's life.

For example:

Marriage takes place in the period when a planet or planets are active that signify the combination of the 2nd, 7th, and 11th houses, as the 2nd house is active.

This is because a person who marries naturally increases his family (2nd house), receives the recognition of society (7th house) and all this is something that was not there before and is now gained (11th house).

Let us take another example:

A person's career booms in the period when a planet or planets are in operation that signify the combination of the 2nd, 6th, 10th and 11th houses, because in this case the 2nd house also signifies the bank balance, the 6th house also signifies the bank balance, and the 3rd house signifies the bank balance.

This means that a person who has a flourishing career has a bank balance (2nd house), a job (6th house), a career (10th house) and all this is a gain (11th house).

Usefulness of a horoscope:

  • A horoscope tells something about the state of finances in our lives.
  • The horoscope tells us what kind of educational path will be beneficial for us.
  • It warns us of difficult times in our lives and prepares us to face them, and more importantly, it suggests timely remedies to avertor minimize disasters.
  • It tells us whether a job is the right path for us or whether a business will open up paths to wealth and prosperity.
  • It indicates the time to buy a property/vehicle in our life.
  • It reveals the state of married life that will be experienced.

Based on the various planetary placements in a chart, an astrologer makes recommendations for certain gemstones as a remedy.

Different types of horoscopes:

  • North Indian style
  • South Indian style
  • Bengali, Oriya or Maithili style
